Bergen Community College

The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program was instituted by the New Jersey State Legislature in 1968 for the purpose of helping economically and educationally disadvantaged students obtain a college education.

EOF Vision

The Educational Opportunity Fund Program at Bergen Community College provides a support system sensitive to the needs of its program participants.

It fosters both intellectual and leadership development through the creation of a learning community, to equip students with the necessary skills to fulfill the needs of society.

Within a changing society we acknowledge the need for continuous self-assessment to ensure that we are responding to the needs of the students that we serve.

EOF Mission

The Mission of the EOF Program is to contribute to the development of a college educated public that reflects the diversity of New Jersey.

It provides access to higher education and support for highly motivated students who exhibit the potential for success, but who are unprepared for the demands of college.

The EOF program acknowledges the distinctive needs of our students and seeks to maximize academic success by providing academic, social and emotional support services, financial assistance, and leadership development activities.
